Currently teaching non English major students in oral English and public speaking courses.

 

Sept 2013 to July 2014 English Lecturer, Jiangxi Agricultural University, Nanchang, China

 

Taught University students majoring in English, business and accounting. Courses focused on speaking, listening, reading and writing. Planned all lessons, created and administered exams for students from different majors and year of study. Also taught the IELTS preparation course for students preparing to study in Australia as part of an exchange program with University of Newcastle.

 

Sept 2012 to August 2013 English Teacher, Kojen English Language School, Taipei, China 

 

Taught English to children aged 6-16, which involved pronunciation practice, spelling, reading and writing. Responsible for lesson planning to meet the curriculum objectives.

Taught English conversation classes to a variety of ages and ability levels. Focused on motivating students to speak and creating a comfortable learning environment.

Participated in a 9 week volunteer program which involved teaching large groups of young children at several different orphanages throughout Sabah.  Teaching focused on language development through team-building activities.  Group responsibility was shared with other volunteer teachers.

This customer-focused full-time summer position required management of the only fuel service vendor on the island.  My responsibilities included punctuality, bookkeeping, health & safety oversight and customer service.

Summer volunteer position for a small local historical society with responsibility for meeting and greeting visitors, maintaining visitor rolls and providing background information on exhibits.
